Swainston’s Windows was founded in 1964 in Stockton-On-Tees, in the heart of Teesside. Originally specialising in fabricating and glazing wooden windows, today Swainston’s is one of the most established uPVC and Glazing providers in the North-East of England.
Offering both public and trade services since the 1970s in uPVC, Windows, Doors and Conservatories, you can be sure of a high quality product due to Swainston’s in-house crafting of single and double glazed units, eliminating risk from third party involvement and improving the turnaround time.
Since 2004 Swainston’s have been based in a 20,000 square foot factory where we continue fabricate our own uPVC Doors, Windows and Conservatories. Our glass shop alone is now very extensive allowing us to cut, fabricate and supply units to Trade and public customers. Swainston’s also offer a wide range of Composite doors which are all manufactured in-house by our own fully trained staff and come complete with hardware and frames.
Now known as Swainston’s Ltd – we are members of various recognised trade associations, ensuring standards are maintained on a day-to-day basis and our customers benefit from the high level of craftsmanship applied to all of our products. We have been Accredited within the Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme for which we are enormously proud, having met and maintained all the standards set over the past 5-10 years.
Since 2008 we have been awarded various contracts to supply and in some cases fit uPVC Windows, Doors and Conservatories to properties owned by local authorities, including Middlesbrough, Stockton, Darlington & Hartlepool. The most popular item we supply to local authorities is our Composite Doors.
With high demand, in 2010 we decided to branch out and offer more services within the construction industry completing works for companies who install home dialysis units. We have also carried out works for private health companies including mental health units working under high security.
Upon the advent of Solid roofs for conservatories and Aluminium bi-folding doors in 2015, we have looked into various products and systems to ensure they met our high standards. We have concluded that the Guardian Warm Rood system and the Smart aluminium bi-fold door systems meet those standards and have successfully installed several of them for our customers.
Come 2019, Swainston’s Ltd has now been passed onto the new generation with Karl Swainston taking the reigns of the business from his father, Garry. Swainston’s Ltd now carry out works and contracts for the Thirteen Group, Cleveland Police and the Danshell Group – providing them with years of glazing experience. Our friendly team pride themselves in our service with our after-care being second to none. Having long standing customers from different generations who use our services, you will not be disappointed.
